I am the lucky owner of three of Karina's bags, including one custom made when my boyfriend begged her to make me one literally days before Christmas. Luckily for us both, Karina is not easily phased and created a truly beautiful bag practically overnight, making me the envy of all my friends for having such a thoughtful boyfriend! I have also bought bags as gifts for my delighted mum and sister, although it was hard not to crumble and keep them for myself! What I especially love about Karina's bags is the attention to detail and unique nature of each piece. She uses vintage buttons, clasps and fabrics to ensure that no two bags are identical. Each one has a story behind it and, if you are lucky enough to meet Karina, she will always take the time to tell you about it. She's done everything, met everyone and is truly fascinating to talk to, should you get the opportunity. Personally, I look forward to the day she finds the time to release a collection of clothes and shoes, as I know they will be equally as amazing. Until then, I'll just keep adding to my collection and look forward to learning how to sew from the master! By : Anna I've been collecting Karina's bags for the past year and I'm totally hooked. This weekend I became the proud owner of my first bag made by Karina. I am a collector of retro/ vintage/ antiques so couldn't be happier with the original luggage stickers that are on the front of my bag. Although what does actually make me happier is knowing I wont ever bump into someone with an identical one. Karina's bags have won the favour of a vast international public in
just 2 years. Despite this widespread popularity, Karina refuses to
industrialise her production process and continues to make all the bags
herself, by hand, in her home, thus preserving all the magical
qualities of unique, one-off, undeniably original objects. Really liked the clutch bags using the silk handkerchiefs. Clutch's (so I read) are very in this autumn/winter. I really like the cream saddle bags. I think I'll put an order in for one of those when I've got a bit more spare cash. The Japanese leather the gentleman found was beautiful, wasn't it. So annoying that I can't access ebay from work � felt like having a search when I read about that. Also like the small picture second from the right in the panel at the bottom of the pages. The bags are simply out of this world. The bag I liked best was the one Karina was using as a handbag herself - I mentioned how much i loved it and she offered it to me for £70 - considering they retail for up to £220 in the shops, I snapped her hand off for it! It is literally the bag of my dreams, so I consider it a real bargain! I will post a photo of it at some point, altho it won't capture the fantastic smell of the leather. |
